Different types of coral

At present, many people like it very much, so many wan to know how many types about coral, there are two main types of corals: hard corals and soft corals.
The first is the hard corals, scientifically it is known as "scleractinians," so you will view it in public aquariums.
Hard corals are made of rigid calcium carbonate and it looks like rocks. Each polyp secretes a hard exoskeleton then with a long time, polyp is made up of calcium carbonate. Hard coral polyps stayed in a place after they die. Because each polyp is so small that it grow at a very slow rate.
The second is: Soft corals, it is also called "gorgonians". The polyps have no skeleton in it, so the soft coral is very supple.
Soft corals are also composed of the same rigid calcium carbonate, but it has protein in it, so it is less rigid than hard corals. Because they have no exoskeletons, they are easy to grow root, they sway back and forth with the currents, if you have seen it in the ocean, you will find that it seem to be more like plants blowing in the breeze.
